Overview

This article describes how to integrate the four Salesforce objects (lead, opportunity, contact and account) in Atlas.

Steps to create and configure profile settings in Salesforce


1. Open Salesforce, and click on Setup as shown in the picture below


2. In the left menu, go to Administration > Users > Profiles. This will present you all profiles. Click on New Profile at the top left of the newly opened screen


3. Click on the Existing Profile dropdown, select ApiUser, and fill in a new Profile Name. Then click on the Save button


4. The new profile window will open


    

Steps to create and configure new user in Salesforce to use in Atlas


1. Open Salesforce, and in the left menu, go to Administration > Users > Users. This will show you all users. Click on New User in the middle of the screen

        

2. The New User screen will open. Fill in the mandatory fields (highlighted in red). Use an active email address to receive passwords and security tokens. On the right side, in the Profile dropdown, select the profile you created during the 'Steps to create and configure profile settings in Salesforce'Click the Save button at the top center of the screen


3. The screen will get updated and an email will be sent to your registered email account

4. Check your emails for the welcome email from Salesforce, and verify your new account by clicking on Verify Account in the email


5. You will be re-directed to Salesforce's Change Your Password screen. Change your password and you are all set

 

Steps to find Security Token in Salesforce for new account


1. Login to Salesforce 

2. Go to Settings, see in the picture below


3. In the left menu, go to My Personal Information > Reset My Security Token, and click on the Reset Security Token Button on the newly loaded page. An email with the new security token will be sent to your registered email. 



Steps to configure Atlas screen


1. Open Atlas, go to Settings > Configure > Salesforce. The Configure Salesforce screen will then open. Enter your Username, Password and Security Token and click on Validate. If the validation is successful, a green button will appear on the top of your screen saying Validation Successful. Please click on the Save Changes button in the top right corner of the screen



2. After saving your changes, the screen will re-load and show you the supported Salesforce objects. The basic integration of Salesforce is now complete. Now you can start the field mapping by clicking on Click here to map field. Select the Salesforce field name equivalent to the Atlas field name. See an example highlighted below in the black box. After successfully mapping all mandatory fields the Field Mapping Status on the top right will turn green and say Complete



Steps to map Salesforce fields with Atlas


In the field mapping section, under the column Salesforce Field Name, click within the cell to open the dropdown list of fields and select the appropriate field id to be mapped.

 

To get more details regarding the field ids listed in the dropdown you can go to the Object Manager screen. Follow these steps to open object manager.

 

  1. Open Salesforce, and click on Setup as shown in the picture below

  1. Click on Object Manager in the top menu. A screen will open with all the existing Salesforce objects. Look for the Opportunity object and open it.


  1. The Opportunity screen will open and show its details. Now go to Fields & Relationships in the left menu.

 

  1. The Fields & Relationships screen will open. All the list of fields under Field Name are the list of Salesforce fields displayed in Atlas configuration. For example, if you want to map Account Name data with a field in Atlas, you need to select AccountId from the dropdown in Atlas.

 

 

Steps to re-validate when password expired


Whenever the Salesforce password expires, configure the Salesforce screen in Atlas. After entering the valid password and security token, as well as clicking on Validate, followed by clicking on Save Changes, the screen will re-load and present the supported Salesforce objects again
